Making Your Mark (Doodles & Mark Making)
March 14
Art Challenge: Borders
Journal Prompt: "Borderline feels like I'm going to lose my mind."
For the background, I mod podged Tim Holtz tissue paper and then gesso'ed over it. Dabbed some TH distress paints in Salty Ocean, Broken China and little of Weathered Wood and blended together with a wet wipe.
I played with some hexagon stamps from Close to My Heart and created a border by stamping the images with Ranger Archival ink on deli paper. Colored the hexagons with yellow and orange Pitt Big Brush markers by Faber Castell. Inked the edge of the layout with Sienna Archival ink and a sponge.
Used a TCW stencil and gold embossing paste by Dreamweaver to add some texture. Stamped bees randomly around and colored with Pitt Big Brush pens and Winkastella.
Cut out a butterfly from black cardstock using my Silhouette cutting machine. Sponged orange and red Viva Decor Inka-gold metallic rubs on the butterfly and then glued him down with a UHU glue stick. Sketched my sentiment with a pencil and then went over it with a Pitt Brush Pen in brown.
