Bravo Burgundy Layers

Today I wanted to play with a color that I have not used in any designs yet...bravo burgundy.  I also wanted to play with layering.  Layers add such dimension and interest to a card.  With this card, I was also able to use three stamps from different SU sets.  "En Francais" was used on the back layer.  The swirl was from "Elements of Style" and the small flower was from "Vintage Vogue".

Sandy's Owls

Just wanted to share the super cute card that my friend Sandy made for her husband's birthday. She used pencils to color the owls and COPIC markers to color the branches. The glittery effects are the result of using SPICA pens. Fun, fun, fun!

Flower Fest Thanks

Played with the new Flower Fest stamp set from SU that will be available starting May 1 in the new Summer mini catalog. Most of the stamps coordinate with SU punches. Love it!!

Flower Garden Embossing Folder

I wanted to play with the new Flower Gardern embossing folder. I had so many ideas...bleaching, inkng the folder and embossing and then coloring the flowers. I ended up casing this design from Mary Fish. Mine is a little different... I sponged the embossed image and the edges of all the paper with Soft Suede ink and then used pearls instead of brads. I also used a different design element for the sentiment. All in all I think it came out pretty good.

Triple Layer Punch

Wow!  It has been a while since I posted.  Things have been a bit crazy lately but I think everything is back to normal and I should be back to posting at least once  a week.

I am so excited about the new Summer Mini Catalog that will be available May 1st.  There are SO many cool new items it was hard for me not to buy one of everything.

Today I played with one of the new triple layer punches.. Blossom Bouquet.  You are able to create three coordinated punch images with just one punch.  You simply move the front lever to the image that you'd like and punch.  Things I learned:  (1) The punch only closes when the lever is in the third position.  (2) When the lever is on the first position, it feels like the punch is not going far down enough but it actually is.  (3)  When punching the second and third images, make sure that the thin flower outline comes out, otherwise your punch will jam and will not work after while.

Here are two cards that I made:

Hope you enjoyed.

An Owl of a Different Color

I got to play with my Copic markers today.  They are so much fun because they are so easy to blend.  I also inked by embossing folder to create a fun design element on the card.  Which color is your favorite?
